Executive Team

Kevin McCaffrey was most recently a business analyst for McKinsey & Company. As the founder of First Person Publishing, Kevin applies his knowledge of business and economic systems to market strategies and non-profit organizations. While earning a degree in economics at Harvard University, Kevin spent his summers volunteering and interning at a variety of organizations. As a summer analyst for UBS Investment Bank, he worked on global healthcare issues; as an intern at Investors’ Circle, he helped match high net-worth investors with social entrepreneurs; at Patton Boggs, LLP, he researched legal issues regarding the contracting process in Iraq; and through World Teach, he served as a volunteer English teacher in Tena, Ecuador.

Jeffrey Fugate serves as a contract specialist for the Department of the Navy in Washington, DC. As a 2006 graduate of Yale University, he has put his economics degree to work in market research as well as in negotiations with Fortune 100 companies. Jeff utilizes his experience with markets and complex transactions to supervise both financial and organizational matters at First Person Publishing. While at Yale, Jeff was a staff writer for the Economic Review, a member of the Entrepreneurial Society, and an intern at the El Pomar Foundation during two summers. In addition to this, he and Kevin co-founded SchoolBooks, a non-profit used book program at his high school alma mater, Fountain Valley School.

Dan Barney works as a relationship manager for TD Ameritrade Trust Company's mutual fund division – a position in which he works directly with fund contacts to maintain positive relations and solve account issues. While attending the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado, Dan studied abroad in Japan to familiarize himself with the world of international business. After earning a degree in business administration with a focus on operations management, he was licensed as a financial planner before signing on with TD Ameritrade. As an "Army brat," Dan lived in several different countries, and along the way he developed a love of soccer which led him to coach and referee youth teams. At First Person Publishing, Dan oversees marketing and sales strategies.

Paul Kim teaches world history at Colorado Academy in Denver. While earning a master’s degree from the University of Wyoming, Paul began an eighteen-year teaching career. Since then, he has taught everything from kindergarten to college but his mainstay has been teaching world history in independent schools. Along the way, he has also coached high school soccer and basketball and won awards for both teaching and coaching. At First Person Publishing, Paul works to develop and manage projects.
